Qasr Al Hosn Festival


On Wednesday Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Crown Prince Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, led a national rally marking the launching of the Qasr Al Hosn Festival.

They examined the progress of mending work taking place at Qasr Al Hosn, where they were explained on the festival’s event programme and its allied cultural and heritage tasks, planned to bring the emirate’s rich heritage alive. Including an interactive show that narrates Abu Dhabi’s story. The show was casted on the interior walls of the fortress.

“The UAE is proud of its cultural heritage, it will conserving & transferring to future generations to safeguard to their authentic Emirati identity.  Finding motivation in their glorious history to continue their approach for development. It is witnessing landmark achievements that will never stop and continuing pressing ahead with strong will and determination. Many distinguished and well known personality were present in opening ceremony. Over 2,000 men and women from the military were part of the parade that was operated on Wednesday. It will be a 10-day event, managed by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, covers  47,000 sq/mtr and is divided into 5 zones.

A group of women portraying an Emirati family from a village in the olden days, captured the attention of, Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is National Security Adviser walked around the 45,000 sq/mtr festival and the many stalls and zones. He has watched women performance as they were speaking traditional Emirati dialect and acclaimed their performance. Qasr Al Hosn Festival will run until February 13, and is expected to engage over 120,000 visitors.

Qasr Al Hosn, a symbolic birthplace of the Emirate and home to Abu Dhabi’s ruling Al Nahyan family, steady to undergo an inclusive process of preservation, restoration and rehabilitation. The 2016 festival praised the fort’s status as a historic monument and community hub, and honors the UAE’s founders and their visionary leadership.
