Dubai Opera – A Mega Project for Art
Dubai opera is the greatest attraction among all the under construction plan in Dubai. It will be the focal point of the Opera District in Downtown Dubai area, according to developer; it’s expected to complete in March 2016. All the works are in progress to finishing.
The Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) is the main contractor for the project and all the architecture done by Atkins. When enter from Mohammed Bin Rashid avenue, the Opera District faces world’s tallest building; Burj Khalifa. The Dubai Opera will be as iconic in appearance as the world-famous Sydney Opera House. Sydney Opera is the busiest performing arts centres in the world, hosting over 1,500 performances every year attended by some 1.2 m people. More than 7 m people visit every year.
Architecture of Dubai Opera is inspired by Arabian culture. It will have the ability to transform into three modes; multi-format performing arts venue in the emirate; a flat floor form, becoming a banquet of event hall and from theatre to a concert hall with 2.000 seats.
In theatre mode the space will be apt for opera, musicals, ballet and dance performances, lectures, large-scale drama productions and conferences. When Transform into a concert hall; a series of towers on stage to make an acoustic shell that adjoining the orchestra, reflectors overhead will increase the acoustics and reflect sound. In flat floor mode, the room will serve many of events including weddings, its accommodate seating up to 1.000 guests with banquet. It can also be transform for trade shows, exhibitions, receptions and parties.
Like this mega project; this city will not going to stop here and Dubai is working on many mega projects such as Museum of the Future, Dubai Frame, Dubai Eye, Dubai Water Canal.
